Difference Between American And British Men

Candide Optimism

The edition I read that I suffered a bit 'of the translation of a language still too outdated and nineteenth-century (eg, kissed him for the kiss) and the lack of certain passages then found in most modern edition. This has probably prevented me
to fully immerse myself in the adventures of Candide. Overall
a little book, funny and ironic.
Voltaire's Candide, or Optimism.
Opera in 1759, and probably inspired by the next earthquake that destroyed Lisbon in 1755.
The events follow each other quickly and takes only a few strokes to sketch the characters and places, yet the author's intentions are clear from the first appearance of unexcelled tutor Pangloss-philosopher and his theories on ' optimism and the ability to see the good in everything (even before catastrophes and tragedies), which the author seeks to refute with knowing irony.
A pleasant read, although not too exciting.
Message that emerges is universal: the effort to reach a goal is never commensurate with a total sense of satisfaction when it is reached, and there is always something we're missing. So
Candido will want something new, while turning back to regret what until recently did not want to.
The Eldorado will always remain a mirage, quell'irraggiungibile metaphor that has touched for a while 'and one can not return.
Yet the optimism with which we should look at things is revealed in the final sentence of candidates (who deliberately do not quote). A small
my curiosity: if Candido lost a leg, how many pages do you dance next? ;)

Auspicious Dates Dec 2010 For Griha Pravesh

squalid Moll - Review to "Moll Flanders"

Moll Flanders, Daniel Defoe, 1722.

Fatigue in judging this book.
It 's very hard to keep posted the two reviews: one on the work and its author and that the character of Moll.
Moll: I originally tried for her tenderness. This "little lady" who was afraid of having to submit to those rules written for her by a life that had not smiled.
But this tenderness is exhausted already after the first 30/40 pages.
Moll Flanders is a character that makes me shudder.
He was lucky, more than he imagined and he deserved, and despite this, continued the bad road from which he could not depart, relying on the pathetic excuse of his uncomfortable situation that had led it to behave like that, even when it's inconvenient, pathetic and helpless there was just nothing.
steals, abandons the children without remorse, combining for weddings and all this without any scruples sena a real need, because the real need, the real misery, has long since passed.
And what is worse, peppering the account of his life of little pearls of wisdom to leave to posterity, placing for example not to follow but always justifying their actions unjustifiable.
DeFoe, we are very far from Robinson Crusoe. It 'difficult to form an opinion about the author because his intentions are not clear. It is not clear whether he wanted to draw a portrait of a woman to condemn it or simply outline some falls attributable to human misery.
If his intent was to outline a bleak and loathsome protagonist (and a vague feeling that leaves me to think it is), my hat, because he succeeded perfectly.

How Accurate Is The Hepatitis B And C Test

He invented the machine that sees tumors ...

Stefano Lorenzetto
(from The Newspaper of March 14, 2010)

A 30 cm long tube that allows you to discover the cancer does not just begin to form. An electromagnetic probe that sees any inflammation of the tissues. A test that takes just 2-3 minutes, is not invasive, does not cause pain or discomfort to the patient, and provides immediate the answer. A harmless test, repeated endlessly and without taking off their clothes, which has a diagnostic accuracy of at least 70%, but when performed by experienced hands, may even reach 100% reliability. A revolutionary, compact, portable, which can be used anywhere that does not require radioactive contrast media, plates or other consumables. Equipment that you buy, rather they bought, with 43,000 € plus VAT, compared to € 3-4 million a magnetic resonance imaging machine, the 2 million a Pet and a million and a half of a CAT scan, all ' and three with very high operating costs.

So who's afraid of and why bioscanner, trade name TRIMprob? Certainly not the potential patients, who could find time for illness. Not the Ministry of Health, which put him in the register of medical devices in the NHS. Certainly not Professor Umberto Veronesi, who has pioneered in its European Institute of Oncology in Milan and has praised its validity. Yet Galileo Avionics, a subsidiary of giant Finmeccanica, announced the closure of the Probe Trim Spa, the company that produces and markets wound up as no longer deemed strategic part of an international group specialized in the means of defense military.

This is the unfortunate historia a knight of the past, Professor Clarbruno Vedruccio, 54, the inventor of bioscanner degree in physics and electrical engineering in the United States, former co-worker 's Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the CNR in Bologna and professor of research methodology at the University of Urbino, and in present times would have merited Nobel prizes for physics and medicine merged together, if only the world revolved in the right direction, and instead is forced to drain their bank accounts to protect her child.

Vedruccio arrived at by pure bioscanner If, as he was providing advanced military technology to some elite units of our armed forces. So as not to miss such a brain, in 2004 the leaders of the Navy have dusted off the law Marconi in 1932, so called because it was tailored to Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of radio, which threatened to move bag and baggage to the British. Enlisted "Special Merit" in the Selected Reserve, by decree of the President of the Republic, the Pythagorean Archimedes became captain of a frigate and was assigned to the office of the Command studies and underwater raiders in La Spezia. He also participated in the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon Leon, where hath been earned a commendation.

When in 2004 a series of impressive displays - which caught fire appliances, car windows exploding, compasses that went mad, automatic gates that opened by themselves - shocked the life of Caronia, near Messina, the Civil Defence called Vedruccio to find the key to the problem. The researcher made sure that the village Nebrodi was struck by beams of electromagnetic radiation with particular characteristics. Today, if you ask him who he was to issue, is limited to three words: "I can not answer." The inventor lives with his wife Carla Ricci, his assistant, a few kilometers the Northern Cross radio telescope of Medicina (Bologna). Talk about the case.

unusual name, Clarbruno.

"is the fusion of Clara and Brunello, my parents."

She is a physicist. Why has agreed to become a naval officer?

"I am not a warmonger nor pacifist. But if war is to be done, is done. We say that the military life is the norm in our family. I was born in Ruffy, province of Lecce. My maternal grandfather, Ettore Giaccari, lost at sea in 1941, was the chief engineer of the crossing River, sunk by the British at the Battle of Cape Matapan. My father commanded the Coast Guard brigade of finance. I grew up among the barracks and the Lighthouse of Torre Canne. In January 1958 a plane crashed in the Adriatic F86 and Dad threw himself to swim in icy waters to save the pilot. Him back to shore, but unfortunately he was already dead. I spent his childhood among the wreckage of that fighter jet. I still remember the cockpit, the controls, the radio room. My love for electronics was born there. "

bioscanner And it is born?

"In 1985 he collaborated with San Marco Battalion. I was asked if I was able to develop a technology to catch poachers at night Pedagna landed on the island, a military zone off the coast of Brindisi. The cameras could not be installed for the excessive saltiness and the frequent storms. I was working on a kind of radar-personnel mines, such as the Americans used in Vietnam, when I noticed that some UHF frequency bands, between 350 and 500 MHz, and below the channels, interacted well with biological tissue of persons. "

How does one noticed?

"I wanted to experience the possibilities also use electromagnetism to locate landmines buried in the ground: the detector recorded any instability in the compactness of the sand up to 20 cm deep. While I was in my lab, I noticed that on a spectrum analyzer of the three spectral lines disappear completely whenever I approached the test. Strange. That day I had swallowed a salami sandwich on the train and I was in the grip of a terrible gastritis. I lit a bulb in my head. Castagnoli called Henry, a former Navy radar operator, my neighbor and asked him how he felt healthy. "It is all right," he said. I repeated the test on him: no change of the spectrum. The confirmation I was looking for. "

mean?

"Then I could not know. But I just tried to live what scientists Hugo Fricke and Sterne Morse sensed and described in 1926 in Cancer Research and that is that normal tissues have an electrical capacity lower than inflamed higher, even more than cancer. In my practice bioscanner allows you to do a kind of electromagnetic biopsy, and bloodless, of biological tissues, with three frequencies in the UHF band, around 460, with 920 and 1350 MHz. In particular, the signal on the first frequency interacts with malignant tumor formation, indicating a lowering of the spectral line. "

It identifies any type of cancer?

"With the exception of leukemia. But solid tumors on which we suspect has read them all. I have seen some cancers of the breast with two years early sull'ecografia and mammography. "

Who was the first patient to undergo the examination?

"A British physicist who had come for a conference at the University of Urbino. I have discovered a tumor in the prostate. In the following days, students of medicine, pharmacy and veterinary lined up to undergo the same examination and my fellow teachers. I taught them and they to me. In 2006 I took the car in Lebanon during the mission Leontes. It was another mass screening. "

But who ensures that the test does not hurt and is reliable?

"The bioscanner has the approval of the Higher Institute of Health, which has declared is not harmful. For each organ must then be a validation process at institutions accredited by the Ministry of Health. To the ovaries, the experiment started by the National Cancer Institute of Milan has shown a sensitivity index by 91%, which is particularly comforting, since it is a tumor that has no symptoms and is usually discovered when there are already metastases. At the same institute were tested tumors of the rectum: we sull'89% reliability. Tests for thyroid and stomach, duodenum, performed in University of Catanzaro, Genoa and more of the Navy hospital in Taranto, proved to be accurate to 90% and 100% in two cases. Tumors of the bladder, the hospital tested Fazio Vito di Lecce, have since returned safely in 89, 5% of cases. For prostate and the breasts are at 72%. "

The margin of error due to what?

"All'imperizia of who performs the examination and the fallibility of all diagnostic systems. Do not forget that an ultrasound can be wrong in 45% of cases, we might as well toss a coin in the air and make heads or tails. A study published in the journal Urology in 2008, and related to the diagnosis of prostate cancer, it appears that the bioscanner gave an accuracy of 72% compared to 55% of transrectal ultrasound, as invasive as annoying. "

The friends turn to her ailment to a minimum.

"Li diverted to hospitals. It is too heavy to discover that a person has a tumor and said doverglielo instantly. If the TRIMprob was given included the doctors, it would save billions of Euros spent on diagnostic tests often unnecessary. Unfortunately this is only on about 2,000 hospitals in 50 existing in Italy. "

and abroad?

"It is in Japan, Brazil, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, United Kingdom, France, Belgium. But two years from the Galileo Avionics has stopped producing it and I'm left to pay the expenses for the maintenance international patent from China to South Africa from India to Canada. These costs are much higher than my salary. "

And to think that Galileo Avionica had gone to investigate the prostate even with bioscanner Beppe Grillo ...

"I think the TRIMprob was also tested on Umberto Bossi, who spoke well to Silvio Berlusconi."

bipartisan tool. "At this point, how do you say that exposure to electromagnetic fields has no effect on people?" Asked Grillo has run in his blog.

"The TRIMprob uses a power 100 times smaller than that of mobile phones: 10 milliwatts compared to 2 watts. But to be honest: the industry has no interest in disclosing the investigations that call for applying the precautionary principle to electromagnetism. "

I said that is not harmful bioscanner is certified?

"That's it. The test takes little or nothing, there is chronic exposure, and the frequency spectrum has a selective absorption on inflamed tissue, not healthy ones. "

and wireless connections are secure?

"by electromagnetism I developed a particular awareness of even weak electromagnetic fields. I noticed that my neighbor had changed the modem to connect to the Internet because I started to sleep badly. I turned on the spectrum analyzer and saw that he had installed a wi-fi. I asked him to at least turn it off at night and went back to sleep well. "

TRIMprob The risks making unnecessary the work of radiologists?

"No. Diagnostic imaging remains the standard. The bioscanner helps, gives the first alarm. For example, urologists who use it have greatly reduced the prescription of biopsies. "

But to retire mammograms to prevent breast cancer.

"If you want to condemn me to death, write like this."

Well, what bothers specialists?

"To all those who do not use it."

Someone has hindered?

"During a meeting at the Higher Institute of health, which had been accredited by the IEE Professor Veronesi, one of those present told me: "What? Witchcraft? ". I have argued that an industry that produces fighter hardly wastes time in voodoo rituals. The bioscanner is the car of the future. But I understand that it would be like talking of mobile phones in 1700. "

How is it possible that Italy will not be able to exploit the invention of an Italian?

"He wants to know something? I am a captain of a frigate precarious. I worked in the Navy just six months a year at the beginning without pay. E by July 2 will be dismissed because 55 years old, which is the age limit to join forces as an officer of completion. Yet this is the most fertile period of my life as an inventor, two patents, including omni-directional antenna for tactical satellite links used by the Italian contingent in Afghanistan, and four more ready. "

You will regret not having remained in the United States.

to escape you soon. Staying to fight in Italy, that is so by soldiers.

Should I Defrost Sausages Before I Cook Them

the Pensioners' Party: "The Region of Lombardy, Trentino, Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Province of Bolzano TRIMprob should adopt the"

Fatuzzo asks Elizabeth to head of health care to appreciate the TRIMprob "

Milan, July 19, 2010. - Elizabeth Fatuzzo, regional director of the Pensioners' Party this morning presented a question to the Councillor Health for clarification on the adoption, in hospitals in Lombardy, equipment that is capable of revealing the presence of cancer, without resort to invasive techniques.
The representative of the Pensioners Party, citing authoritative print sources, which are occupied, with extensive services in recent weeks, the bioscanner, the trade name of "TRIMprob" invented by Italian physicist Clarbruno Vedruccio, wrote this as a diagnostic tool is able to "discover the tumors as a metal detector, no probes to be inserted in the body, ultrasound, needles or other invasive methods" and "would be in use in dozens of Italian hospitals: the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan at Rome's St. Andrew, at the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome. "
Fatuzzo Elizabeth, because it is a very innovative technique and largely unknown to the public, asked to know, with a series of structured questions, such as the Lombardy Regional Council intends to highlight this important diagnostic tool.

attack Duro Claudio Taverna alderman health Ugo Rossi

Trento, July 5, 2010 - we just do not! Despite the professionalism, handsomely paid, available to the provincial health and health services for the company, the answer councilor Ugo Rossi is reprehensible in all respects. A series of errors that result in gross lies, here is what has managed to make responsible health thirties, in half a small page. So it took to answer a question raised by the group in early April this year the council of the Northern League (the first signatory cons. Civettini Claudio). The intervention of Ugo Rossi has sparked strong reactions of Dr. Giampaolo Battle, president of the Foundation of Liberty and has resulted, today on the issue of "La Stampa" of Turin article Flavia Amabile .

Even Claudio Taverna, in his capacity as national head of economic department of the party has strongly objected to the words of the Councillor for Health of the Autonomous Province of Trento with a statement from the symbolic title "The lies of Ugo Rossi." Taverna has accused the commissioner Rossi of "excessive and unjustified provincialism "recalling how the story is created from an article on the adoption of Trentino Free TRIMprob provincial health care facilities, diagnostic equipment, portable non-invasive and relatively cheap (something like 30/40 thousand against € 1.3 million for the Tac) and as such available to the primary care primarily for the benefit of patients in the fight against cancer (and other diseases) and budgets. The question came from interrogation institutionalized Provincial of the Northern League that we have mentioned.
Now, the case was taken up by a national launch of ACI (Italian News Agency) of 16.00, which raises the battle for truth and transparency conducted by Taverna, the Pensioners Party, from Trentino Free Project and the Northern League against the invention of Professor. Vedruccio so widely rejected.

Trieste, July 14, 2010 - The bioscanner "cancer detectors would" go adopted by health facilities in the Friuli Venezia Giulia. The proposed Councillor Louise Ferone (Pensioners Party) with a question to the "governor" Renzo Tondo.
The invention of Professor. Clarbruno Vedruccio, scientist and senior officer of our Navy, which mysteriously and inexplicably, despite the approval of the national health service, and the adoption of national health structures of excellence as the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, is still not proper use.
The question was raised most recently by an article published by La Stampa of Turin, while a conference took place in early June in the Hall of the Library of the Senate was responsible for the bioscanner "flush out cancer-" These are
facts mentioned in the introduction of question that Luigi Ferone yesterday submitted to the "governor" of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Renzo Tondo.
The representative of the Pensioners Party has put the political leaders of the region a few questions to cast light on each other. First, the paper asks whether the inspection in public and private health facilities operating in the Region, "TRIMprob, as commercially it is called, is used. If not, the questioner question the reasons for the failure of bioscanner "flush out cancer-" from health care facilities affiliated with the Regional Health Service.
Not only that, Ferone also asks "if the regional health department has assessed, with emphasis on technical and scientific, the great value for effectiveness, efficiency, cost of investment" TRIMprob ", given its relatively low cost of 'purchase (40/43.000 €), of no special maintenance and supplies as cheap. "Counsel for the Pensioners Party, pressing the governor Round and regional councilor for health, he wonders why the" TRIMprob "is not used in medicine, thus avoiding long lists of patients 'Waiting for specialized diagnostic tests such as CT, MRI and PET, particularly in the detection of prostate disease, particularly for prostate cancer and that could become a good tool for mass screening examination.
Finally, Ferone calls for the region Friuli Venezia Giulia to take charge of creating a real "project TRIMprob", highlighting the practical opportunities offered by the invention of Professor. Vedruccio. This

attack Duro Claudio Taverna alderman health Ugo Rossi

The invention of Professor. Clarbruno Vedruccio, scientist and senior officer of our Navy, which mysteriously and inexplicably, despite the approval of the national health service, and the adoption of national health structures of excellence as the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, is still not proper use.

facts mentioned in the introduction of question that Luigi Ferone yesterday submitted to the "governor" of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Renzo Tondo.

Rice Milling Business

The Golden Ass.

I just finished reading of the Golden Ass of Apuleius.
Apuleius: writer, philosopher, magician and alchemist, who lived in the second century AD C. and sourced from Madaura (Algeria).
He studied in Rome and wrote his works in Latin.
is accused of magic and faces a trial after which they will be acquitted.
follower of Plato, is its certain currents of thought (such as Pythagoreanism and Orphism) and is a follower of the Eleusinian Mysteries.
few strokes to sketch the figure.

The Golden Ass (Metamorphoses not even the title) is a hilarious book.
It 'full of humor, irony, descriptions (and of course have to read it with the knowledge to meet in the second century).
Change easily from a "low profile events" to the other, and all are characterized by lightness or drama.
The reflections of the donkey-Lucio, who occasionally creep between passages, giving the story a touch of philosophy in a nutshell it does not hurt and no overhead.
The characters of adulterous women are great and willing, as well as the profile that outlines the pen of Apuleius.

One of my personal reflection:
in the current literary scene too often run into romanticized memories of sexual and almost always the preserve of women, limping gait, sloppy and boring compared to hatches of Apuleius.
I wonder why, after almost two thousand years, that argument has already been treated in many different ways and so many original authors more or less old, can still be considered outrageous and not evolved, in my opinion it's the same old soup warmed that, over time, has completely lost its taste.
and lost, especially, light irony that should characterize the topic.

How Its Made Chicken Wings

team leader is a short step

This was to be a post on the abuse theory butterfly effect: an excuse to bring up the Icelandic volcano unpronounceable name thanks to its eruption out of place and Oversized turned my vacation in a crazy Mexican w-end in Milan in the company of my new friends from Abruzzo. I would probably reflected the fact that not all silver lining and I might have joked that the volcanic cloud is actually the usual cloud fantozziana I always carry on your head etc.. etc.

Maybe it would have been nice, but then I remembered the original purpose of this blog: talk about life as an intern underpaid and undervalued in the magical world of communication and my plans for become the new Amanda W oodward ( beautiful rich bitch if you do not chew of the '90s TV series) ...
last time I wrote about everything, including the controversial post on the nostalgia smells like smoke in public places, but the punishment of us young (and not so young) interns nothing more ...
It 's true, I have moved from the road, but it my fault if the heart is a gypsy, but he never put tents in the breasts of the marketing directors of multinational corporations?

So in the meantime have regressed from intern to unemployed, er, otherwise occupied / jobseekers / I'm watching around / I'm considering proposals ...
short, all those definitions that you invent creative when you meet your former colleagues from top universities now become super mega-manager troppofighi tropporealizzati (or assumed). And trust me, is a law of nature, just stop working to meet them all, even that which he moved from 5 years in Tibet to become a Buddhist monaco!

Nevertheless I must confess that this is not the way I think a regression: before I got up at dawn and after fighting with other cars to win the pole position at the traffic lights 5 days of the square and digging a ditch with the wheels around the office looking for parking, waiting for me at best 9 hours of slavery, and now I get up slowly, I move on foot (from the bed to the bathroom, the bathroom the kitchen) and 4 chairs around the table and I always find parking easily.
Not to mention the fact that before I was the last wagon wheel, the equivalent of plankton in the food chain, are now leading a team of four elements: a cactus, a succulent plant, a plant of lavender and sage. If all goes well and the group shows close-knit (and survive all the elements) will try to increase profits concerning other types of plants;)

Mount And Blade Family And House Mod

writer or hack? First Thought

In today's writing something hits me all over.
The meeting inside the blogs of famous and lesser-known authors, crawling next to interviews more or less likely addressed to editor / readers professionals / proofreaders, web browsing among literary competitions and forum for aspiring scribblers.
Hack is not a derogatory term that I use to diminish a passion that is also mine, but a kind of bag containing magical talents, vices and virtues of a population accustomed to evil, a lot which, from time to time, something real, something we can define a writer, emerges.
It 's a term I like to use to highlight how, in my opinion, today is considered one who wants to be a writer.
And too often I find myself thinking that, after all, is a correct term, and not wrongly attributed.
The thing that strikes me and I find (to return to the first point) is the current of thought that seems to go flood the minds of those who, precisely, "Dream of the writers."
I came across too often in phrases like:
-a manuscript must first give-a manuscript must affect emotions and touching, full of errors if it does not matter-the formal care is not as important as the emotion- the work of attention to detail is something that relates more to the editor and proofreader, no one pays any errors before-a story that works!
This is what they say many aspiring writers.
is the counterpart of spoken sentences instead of editors and company:
-too often we receive manuscripts tides of badly written-about 1000 manuscripts we receive are worth only a few-if a manuscript is illegible, however beautiful may be the story, I refuse to receive light-crumpled manuscripts without a minimum of care-receiving unsolicited manuscripts and topics are not required.
Now, through these incoherent, evasive, often incomplete, insufficient details, here is the scenario that promises to me.
Thousands of people who think writing a means to vent instincts and passions, something that can only work if there is a good deal of emotion combined with a little luck, for emotion does not always mean the particular that makes your eyes sparkle or shudder, but simply recognize that the daily special that gives success stories juvenile-depressive that so fashionable today.
Thousands of people who throw down these stories, most of the time without bothering to invent them, but drawing directly to their personal experiences, because it is more "torture-style" and, unmindful of the form, layout , a possible division into chapters, of the care that allows those who read it of not having to navigate between the absence of quotation marks and consonants smangiucchiate and then send them into the fray at all possible publishers, or many of them, including those only publish books on Japanese cooking.
Poor care history, poor attention to detail, lack of care for other people's work, lack of care in channeling the forces to the right target.
The writing from this point of view, it is a lottery in which a win would be the emotion.
emotion buried under layers of crumpled pages, manuscripts, letters missing, which, in his August power, because it shows glorious living, and this has the same probability of occurrence of a needle that has to be able to make inroads among thousands straws that the choke until it reaches the surface.
I'm still thinking about the trends that diminish the level of writing hobby and do not give it the care and dignity resulting from the method ...
continue to interrogate me.

specific purpose: whatever I say is the result of my personal opinion and not meant in any way rise to the role of absolute truth.
